Negotiating skill is also taught in our Leadership programs program. A negotiation starts before it begins and its success is often decided before the first face-to-face confrontation. That's because successful deal-making depends largely on preparation – a core aspect of our training on skills for negotiation.
Every aspect of doing business with customers, vendors, partners, bosses, and employees involves negotiation. You do it whether you're the buyer or seller of an idea or product. In short, negotiation is a key life skill.
Negotiation, after all, is as old as man himself - in fact, it's an essential element of everyday life. "You may not realize it, but everyone negotiates all the time," says Gerard Nierenberg, founder and president of the New York City-based Negotiation Institute and the author of 20 books. "It's an essential part of all human relations."
