The\u00a0<strong>trainer<\/strong>\u00a0in me could not allow this to happen.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"549\" height=\"355\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mmmts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/life-changing-customer-service.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2854\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mmmts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/life-changing-customer-service.jpg 549w, https:\/\/www.mmmts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/life-changing-customer-service-300x194.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 549px) 100vw, 549px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sandra was a participant in a\u00a0<strong>customer service training<\/strong>\u00a0session. She was a very intelligent and extremely confident lady. \u00a0She handled even the most complicated questions with ease. Her enthusiasm was initially infectious; however, as the day progressed it became burdensome to the others. As the\u00a0<strong>facilitator<\/strong>, I set some firm limits but she paid no heed to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the\u00a0<strong>leader<\/strong>\u00a0of her team was she displaying good\u00a0<strong>leadership<\/strong>\u00a0traits?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201cThe real leader has no need to lead \u2013 he is content to point the way.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Henry Miller<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Half way through the session I was forced to give her some very direct and open\u00a0<strong>feedback<\/strong>. She was not allowing any one to learn and in the process not learning herself. Her behavior was disrupting the session and demoralizing the others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I also spent time with her alone and sensitized the need for her to change her attitude and behavior. Although she broke down once, she took all the feedback very bravely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201cTruly great leaders spend as much time collecting and acting upon feedback as they do providing it.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u2013\u00a0Alexander Lucia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She started allowing others to speak and gradually started giving more understanding and gaining respect. By personal example she proved her love for her team by acting upon the\u00a0<strong>feedback<\/strong>.
