An Upwork study also found that close to 70% of millennial managers were open to have their team members work remotely. Given that organisations are more comfortable with virtual working environments, online coaching seems the way to go.

  • Limited time investment for the learner:Coachees usually spend anywhere between 30-60 minutes in a session (once a week or once in two weeks), hence allowing those with a busy schedule to get the most out of the limited time that they have
  • Accessibility:With virtual coaching, the coachee can connect from anywhere, on any device (mobile, computer, tablet), thus allowing them the flexibility to be on the move and to not have to worry about being plugged-in to attend their session
  • Convenience:When we conduct the virtual coaching for organisations, there are usually multiple coachees scheduled to an executive coach on a particular day. If the coachee has a sudden meeting come up, all they need to do is swap their slot with another coachee who has a session scheduled for that day.

Our Methodology of Virtual Coaching:

Frequency:

  • We generally start with one session a week or a fortnight (depending on the focus area of the coaching)
  • The frequency reduces over time (to once a month) to ensure that the coachee starts to develop habits that allow them to sustain the changes in their mind-set, behaviour and skills and perform independently of the coach

Connectedness:

  • Between sessions there are actions that the coachee takes in order to progress in the chosen area of focus and come prepared for the next session
  • This allows each stage of the coaching journey to be connected in a way that allows the coachee to continuously work towards their progress and development

Confidentiality:

  • Conversations between the coachee and the coach are confidential in nature, which allows the coachee to share challenges and mind-sets that they usually would not share in a regular conversation
  • This creates a safe space for the coachee to share without inhibition, which in turn results in a more rapid pace of change and development

Measuring the Effectiveness of Our Online Coaching:

Pre- and Post-Evaluation:

  • Although there is confidentiality in conversations, there is also an emphasis on measurement of tangible improvement
  • Every coachee is assessed before the start of the coaching program and at the end of the coaching program to gauge the level of improvement made
  • These could be skill-based assessments conducted by the coach, or behaviour-based assessments which involve the coachee and, if possible, the coachee’s immediate manager

Reports:

  • Each coachee (and the organisation) will receive a report from the coach on the progress made relating to the key focus areas of the coaching
  • This report will contain information on the progress that the coachee has made and what they can continue to do going forward
